Founder & Principal Ecologist

Email: adr.fig.phd@gmail.com

Driven by a passion for protecting our natural world, I’ve dedicated my career to advancing conservation biology and restoration ecology since 2016. During my undergraduate studies, I double-majored in Environmental Studies: Natural Resources Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies, with a minor in Biological Sciences and certification in Biodiversity Conservation and Management—laying a robust foundation for my scientific journey.

In graduate school, I investigated how seasonality influences frugivory, seed dispersal, and individual diet specialization in gopher tortoises (Gopherus polyphemus) within the globally imperiled pine rockland ecosystem of Miami-Dade County, Florida—earning my PhD in Earth Systems Science: Natural Resources Science and Management. Later, at the University of Florida, I developed a decision support tool to prioritize invasive species threatening Everglades ecosystems, fulfilling a critical mandate under the 2020 Water Resources Development Act.

I have extensive expertise in conservation biology, restoration ecology, field research, data analysis (frequentist and Bayesian), coding (R Studio, R Shiny, HTML, CSS, JavaScript), GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS), technical writing, science communication, and public speaking.

I’m eager to collaborate on innovative projects that drive sustainable solutions and restore native habitats and threatened species populations.

Let’s connect to explore how we can work together to safeguard our environment!
